Austin Meadows (Pirates' No. 2) didn't waste any time on Thursday night extending his hitting streak to 18 games. The No. 16 overall prospect hammered the fourth pitch he saw out to right field for a two-run homer that gave Altoona an early two-run lead.

The former first-round selection later added a double and finished the night 2-for-3. Meadows had a productive season at Double-A last year, hitting .307 with seven homers and 54 RBIs in 121 games, and so far this year he's showing that was no fluke.
Meadows is again showing he can handle the bat and through 39 games, as he's hitting .310 with four homers and 19 RBIs.
The rest of the best performances from top prospects Thursday
• Salem's 10-6 win over Wilmington was littered with strong performances from Boston's top prospects. Rafael Devers (Red Sox No. 2, No. 14 overall) led the way with five hits in as many at-bats. Mauricio Dubon (Red Sox No. 12) was 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. And Boston's top prospect, Yoan Moncada (No. 5 overall), got in on the action as well, going 2-for-6 with a double and his 35th stolen base.
• Jesse Winker (Reds' No. 1, No. 29 overall) extended his hitting streak to nine games for Louisville, going 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. The left fielder has been playing well in his first stint at Triple-A, hitting .290 with 24 RBIs through 53 games.
• Dillon Tate (Rangers' No. 3, No. 31 overall) didn't receive much offensive support, but when he's at the top of his game, he doesn't need any. The 22-year old gave up three hits and fanned three over six scoreless innings as he led Hickory to a 1-0 win over Kannapolis.
• It's hard to fare much better at the plate than Rays No. 3 prospect Willy Adames did in Montgomery's 17-2 win over Biloxi. The No. 75 overall prospect hit his eighth homer and was 4-for-5 at the plate. Adames, who has hits in six of his past seven games, also scored three runs and had four RBIs.
• Astros' No. 3 prospect Francis Martes led Corpus Christi to a win with a nine-strikeout performance. The right-hander threw 6 2/3 innings, walking one and giving up five hits.
• Socrates Brito extended his hitting streak to 11 games and left no doubt that he is locked in at the plate. The D-backs' No. 2 prospect collected a plethora of hits for Reno as he was 4-for-5 on the evening.
• Mike Clevinger carved his way through the Indianapolis lineup as he led Columbus to an 11-0 win in the first game of a doubleheader. The Indians' No. 7 prospect gave up three hits and struck out eight, a season-high, over six scoreless innings. The outing also marked the first time all year the right-hander didn't walk a batter.
• Tyler O'Neill did it all for Jackson on Wednesday, but on Thursday he came back for more. Less than 24 hours after the Mariners' No. 24 prospect drove in eight runs and had a walk-off grand slam, he hit another homer -- this time a two-run blast -- in his first at-bat.

• Mets' No. 2 prospect Amed Rosario had his first four-hit game of the season in St. Lucie's 11 inning win over Dunedin. The shortstop went 4-for-6, scored a run and drove in another in the 11th.
• Mets' No. 4 prospect Brandon Nimmo recorded his third straight multi-hit game and his first career multi-homer game, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs for Las Vegas.

• As long as his Bowie teammates found a way to get on base, Orioles' No. 27 prospect Adrian Marin found a way to get them home. For the second time in his career, and for the first time since 2014, Marin drove in four runs and went 3-for-4 with a triple.

• Phillies' No. 13 prospect Zach Eflin gave up a season-low one hit, but he walked a season-high three for Lehigh Valley. It was a good outing when all was said and done, as Eflin gave up two runs (none earned) over 5 1/3 innings. He's pitched at least five innings in all 11 of his starts.
• Franklyn Kilome (Phillies' No. 8) put together the longest start of his career and set a career-high for strikeouts in the process. The 20-year-old right-hander twirled seven strong innings for Lakewood, struck out nine and allowed just one earned run.
• Deven Marrero dug himself quite a hole with an early season slump, but he's been digging himself out of it lately. Boston's No. 9 prospect was 2-for-3 for Pawtucket and is 8-for-20 over his last five games. Marrero is still only hitting .216, but that's also the highest his average has been since it was .231 on May 7.
• JaCoby Jones (Tigers' No. 8) stole a base and extended his hitting streak to six games with a 2-for-4 performance, but it wasn't enough as Toledo lost, 2-1.
• Kohl Stewart (Twins' No. 7) bounced back in a stellar way for Chattanooga. The right-hander was unable to get out of the second inning in his last start, but Thursday was a completely different story. Stewart fired six scoreless innings, struck out five and gave up just a trio of hits.
• Twins' No. 28 prospect Daniel Palka hit a pair of homers for Chattanooga, his third multi-homer game of the month. Palka went 2-for-3 with four RBIs as well as two walks.
