CHICAGO -- President Barack Obama applauded the Cubs' first World Series championship since 1908 by inviting manager Joe Maddon and the team to the White House, while a handful of players will test their comedic chops in a guest appearance on "Saturday Night Live." Obama tweeted after the Cubs captured the Series by beating the Indians in Game 7. • Shop for World Series champs gear The Cubs will have to hurry. Obama's term ends on Jan. 20. The Cubs celebrated the championship with their fans on Friday at Hutchinson Field, the same location in Grant Park where Obama accepted the presidency eight years ago to the day, Nov. 4, 2008.
