Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers
Ohtani (left knee, right biceps, neck) was held out of the lineup as a hitter on Sept. 3 and 4.
Shane McClanahan, Rays
McClanahan was placed on the 15-day IL on Sept. 4 with left forearm tightness. He does not believe the issue to be serious.
Garrett Crochet, Ceddanne Rafaela, Willson Contreras and Tanner Houck, Red Sox
Crochet (left shoulder inflammation) threw off the mound on Sept. 4 for the first time since suffering his injury.
Rafaela was out of the lineup on Sept. 3 and 4 due to right quad soreness. He is not expected back before Sept. 6.
Contreras (left hamstring strain) has resumed baseball activities and the Red Sox remain hopeful he will be able to return as soon as he is eligible on Sept. 10.
Houck (torn right UCL, right flexor pronator strain) threw a simulated game on Sept. 4. If he recovers well, he could begin a rehab assignment on Sept. 8 with Double-A Portland.
Reynaldo López and Robert Suarez, Braves
López (left knee inflammation) is expected to rejoin the Braves' rotation sometime during the club's Sept. 8-10 series against the Rays.
Suarez (right elbow inflammation) had a pain-free bullpen session on Sept. 2 and is scheduled for another on Sept. 7, after which he could begin a rehab assignment.
Corbin Burnes, Zac Gallen, Ryne Nelson and Michael Soroka, D-backs
Burnes (Tommy John surgery, teres major strain) threw three innings and 43 pitches in a bridge camp game, with seven more pitches in the bullpen, on Sept. 3.
Gallen (right elbow inflammation) threw four innings and 60 pitches in a simulated game on Sept. 4.
Nelson (right flexor strain/right UCL sprain) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Visalia on Sept. 5.
Soroka (right shoulder inflammation) threw four innings and 59 pitches in a simulated game on Sept. 4.
Ben Brown, Jacob Webb, Edward Cabrera, Dansby Swanson and Justin Steele, Cubs
Brown (stress reaction in neck) will not return this season after experiencing a setback in his rehab process.
Webb (right forearm contusion) played catch on Sept. 3-4, and the team expects to know more about his condition once the swelling has gone down. He is still being considered day to day.
Cabrera (right middle finger blister) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on Sept. 1, throwing one inning. He is expected to return to the Cubs as a reliever and is tentatively slated to pitch again for Iowa on Sept. 4.
Swanson (left oblique strain) was swinging a bat daily as of Sept. 3, while also doing defensive work and agility drills. He is still likely two weeks out from a potential return.
Steele (left elbow flexor strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on Sept. 2.
Steven Okert, Astros
Okert was placed on the 15-day IL on Sept. 4 with a right hamstring strain.
Aaron Judge, Yankees
Judge (stress fracture in ribs) traveled with the club on its Aug. 31-Sept. 6 West Coast road trip with hopes to return sometime in September without a rehab assignment. He threw long toss and did running drills on Sept. 2.
Jack Flaherty and Justin Verlander, Tigers
Flaherty (right flexor inflammation) threw off the mound on Sept. 4 and could begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo over the weekend.
Verlander (left hip inflammation, left hamstring strain) is throwing off the bullpen mound and progressing well. He hopes to have time to return for at least one final appearance in 2026.
Ryan O'Hearn, Luke Weaver and Kirby Yates, Pirates
O'Hearn (left quad strain) is participating in light baseball activities, throwing and swinging as of Sept. 4. He could return as soon as Sept. 11.
Weaver is dealing with a severe case of poison ivy, suffered during the Pirates' Aug. 11-13 series in Miami.
Yates was placed on the 15-day IL on Sept. 3 with a right shoulder impingement.
Kyle Stowers, Marlins
Stowers, who left the Marlins' Sept. 3 game due to cramping in his left hamstring, felt better and was potentially available off the bench on Sept. 4.
Maikel Garcia, Royals
Garcia (left hamstring strain) is progressing well and running at 80 percent as of Sept. 4. He has not ruled out a 2026 return.
Tommy White, Athletics
White left the Athletics' Sept. 1 game in the second inning with back tightness. He remained out of the lineup through Sept. 4.
Colin Holderman and Shawn Armstrong, Guardians
Holderman was placed on the 15-day IL on Sept. 4 with right wrist inflammation.
Armstrong (left calf strain) has begun a throwing progression as of Sept. 4.
Graham Ashcraft, Reds
Ashcraft (right UCL sprain) is expected to be activated on Sept. 6.
Josh Jung and Nathan Eovaldi, Rangers
Jung (left calf strain) was participating in full baseball activities with the exception of full-speed running as of Sept. 3.
Eovaldi (right posterior elbow inflammation) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Sept. 3. He is expected to throw another bullpen or live BP session before moving forward with his rehab process.
Joe Ryan, Twins
Ryan (mild left glute strain) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Sept. 1, allowing a run on one hit over three innings with four strikeouts and no walks.
