Shane McClanahan, Rays
McClanahan (left forearm tightness) has been shut down for the rest of the postseason. Manager Kevin Cash noted that McClanahan is not injured, but he handled a large enough workload after missing 2 1/2 seasons to significant arm injuries that the Rays felt it “just made the most sense” to shut him down. The club expects McClanahan to be ready for the start of next season.
Miguel Rojas, Dodgers
Rojas was kept on the NLCS roster after he exited NLDS Game 3 in the middle of his eighth-inning at-bat with low back pain.
Brandon Woodruff, Brewers
Woodruff (right shoulder inflammation) began throwing off a mound during the NLDS. He hopes to face hitters in live batting practice before the start of the World Series, giving him a long-shot chance of joining the Brewers’ potential World Series roster.
Colin Holderman, Guardians
Holderman (right wrist inflammation) will not return for the postseason. He will undergo surgery for the wrist injury that he said has plagued him since 2023. He had been throwing bullpen sessions, but the wrist kept bothering him.
Roman Anthony, Caleb Durbin and Mickey Gasper, Red Sox
Anthony (right hand/wrist) is not expected to need surgery. The Red Sox had imaging done on Anthony, but the current plan is to rest during the offseason to recover.
Durbin underwent a successful proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint reconstruction on his left pinkie. He had played through the injury for months.
Gasper suffered a right biceps injury on Sept. 25 that required surgery. He hopes to be ready by Spring Training.
Cal Raleigh and Josh Naylor, Mariners
Raleigh underwent a left shoulder acromioclavicular (AC) debridement procedure that was performed by Dr. Albert Gee. He is expected to be fully recovered by Spring Training.
Naylor underwent triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) repair surgery on his right wrist that was performed by Dr. Jerry Huang. He is expected to be fully recovered by Spring Training.
Corey Seager, Josh Jung and Danny Jansen, Rangers
Seager underwent surgery to remove a bone spur from his throwing elbow. He is expected to make a full recovery in time to begin his normal offseason work.
Jung will not need surgery for the right hand fracture that he suffered when he was hit by a pitch on Sept. 25.
Jansen underwent a procedure to remove a bone growth in his right hand.
