NEW YORK -- A tandem of standout switch-hitters from Puerto Rico are set to be honored at the 38th annual Thurman Munson Awards dinner, where Carlos Beltran and Jorge Posada will be presented with the prestigious 'Thurman Legend' award.
Also in line to receive Munson Awards, presented for success on the field of play and philanthropic works off the field, are Mets infielder T.J. Rivera, Yankees reliever Player Page for David Robertson and two-time New York Giants Super Bowl champion Justin Tuck.
The dinner is scheduled for Feb. 6 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York, and Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay is set to serve as the master of ceremonies.
The 'Thurman Legend Award' is presented periodically for on-field excellence, community service and lifetime contributions to society and the game. Past recipients include Yankees icon Yogi Berra, Munson's teammates Lou Piniella and Graig Nettles, Yankees outfielder Bernie Williams, and the 'Shot Heard 'Round the World' duo of Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher Ralph Branca and New York Giants outfielder Bobby Thomson.
The awards and dinner pay homage to the late Yankees captain, whose life was tragically cut short by a plane crash on Aug. 2, 1979. All five honorees are dedicated to community service.

Beltran and Posada have separately spearheaded hurricane relief efforts in their native Puerto Rico; the Jorge Posada Foundation assists those afflicted with craniosynostosis, while the Carlos Beltran Foundation empowers young people to reach their dreams through sports and education.
Robertson has furnished homes and supplies for many impacted by natural disasters through his High Socks for Hope foundation, Rivera's community efforts earned him a nomination for the Roberto Clemente Award, and Tuck is widely known for his literacy efforts through the Tuck R.U.S.H. for Literacy foundation.
The event benefits the AHRC NYC Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports programs enabling children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Diana Munson, Thurman's widow, will attend the benefit for a 38th consecutive year. She has been involved since its inception, helping to raise more than $15 million to support richer, more productive lives for the people AHRC serves.
AHRC NYC is one of the largest organizations of its kind, serving 15,000 children and adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries and other disabilities.
