Blue Jays-Guardians postponed; twin bill Saturday

May 6th, 2022

CLEVELAND -- Rain pestered the Guardians and Blue Jays for most of their series opener Thursday night and kept coming down all day Friday, prompting the postponement of the second game of the four-game set.

Friday’s game will be made up on Saturday as part of a traditional doubleheader that will begin at 2:10 p.m. ET at Progressive Field.

In the opener, the Guardians’ Shane Bieber will oppose the Blue Jays’ Kevin Gausman. Cleveland’s Triston McKenzie will oppose Toronto’s Ross Stripling in the second game.

Gates will open at 1 p.m. ET, and only fans with tickets to the May 7 contest will be able to attend. The Guardians x ILTHY T-shirt promotional item will be given out to the first 10,000 fans in attendance for the first game.

Fans holding tickets to the originally scheduled May 7 game who want to attend both games may do so and will have the same seat for both games. Fans are able to use the full value of their May 6 ticket in their My Tickets account when exchanging into one of 42 game options, including the May 7 doubleheader. Tickets must be exchanged by July 1 at 5 p.m. ET.
