The Toronto Blue Jays have signed RHP Gavin Floyd to a Major League contract worth US $1 million.
Floyd, 33, appeared in seven games for Cleveland last year, having his season shortened due to an elbow fracture for a 2nd straight season. The 12-year veteran owns a 72-72 record with a 4.38 ERA in 215 games (196 starts) for Philadelphia, Chicago White Sox, Atlanta and Cleveland.
To make room on the 40-man roster RHP Chad Jenkins has been designated for assignment.
