TORONTO -- Brandon Drury was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday after a CT scan revealed that the 25-year-old has been dealing with a fracture in his left hand since his final game with the Yankees.
"I got hit on the hand a couple days before I got traded in New York," Drury said. "X-rays came back clean. It wasn't really getting any better, so I just wanted to get a CT scan on it and see if anything was wrong, and it was broken."
Drury was injured July 24 in the fifth inning against the Rays when he was hit on the hand by Yonny Chirinos. He was removed for a pinch-runner and traded to Toronto two days later.

In eight games with the Blue Jays, Drury struggled at the plate, connecting for just four hits in 26 at-bats.
"I was doing everything I could to play through it," Drury said. "It just came to a point where I couldn't swing right, I couldn't catch the ball right."
He had a pair of hits in his last game in Seattle on Saturday, but tests the following day revealed a fracture in his fifth metacarpal, located near his left wrist. He will be in a cast for two weeks and re-evaluated after that, according to the club.
"He was scuffling a little bit offensively," Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said. "But you could tell a part of that was because that wrist was nagging him."

Toronto acquired Drury in a three-player deal with the Yankees before the non-waiver Trade Deadline, acquiring the Yankees' No. 19 overall prospect, Billy McKinney, for left-hander J.A. Happ.
The Blue Jays called up Richard Urena from Triple-A Buffalo in the corresponding move. Urena was 5-for-18 in 11 Major League games this season. He has struggled in the Minors this year, hitting .206 with a .234 OBP in 63 games. Urena is ranked as Toronto's No. 23 prospect by MLB Pipeline.
"I don't know how long he'll last, I don't know how long [Lourdes Gurriel Jr.] will be [on the DL]," Gibbons said. "I'm sure you'll see [Urena] pinch-run a couple times. He's a good little player, he's still putting his game together, I'm sure you'll see him a time or two."
