ATLANTA -- Braves third baseman Adonis Garcia will be sidelined approximately two months while recovering from surgery to repair ligament damage in his left ring finger.

Garcia injured his finger while taking a swing during the ninth inning of a June 6 loss to the Phillies. He was placed on the 10-day disabled list the next day. Initially, Atlanta was hopeful that Garcia could avoid the surgical procedure, which was performed by Dr. Gary Lourie.
