If there was any question of 's health, he let his bat answer for him. Emphatically.

On rehab assignment after injuring his left hamstring earlier this month, Atlanta's young backstop erupted for three homers and seven RBIs to lead Triple-A Gwinnett past visiting Memphis, 14-2, Thursday night.

Jackson added a single and a walk to reach base safely in all five plate appearances. The four hits equaled a career high, done three times, most recently in 2019 with Gwinnett.

After going hitless in three at-bats Tuesday night, the 25-year-old bookended the Stripers' eight-run second inning with a solo blast and RBI single. He jumped on an 0-1 pitch in the fourth for his second round tripper and capped the first three-homer game of his career with a grand slam in the fifth.

The seven RBIs eclipsed his previous career high of six, which he established in 2019. Jackson's outburst was the fourth three-homer game in franchise history and the second this season. Orlando Arcia went deep three times against Charlotte on May 9.

While Jackson established himself as one of baseball's top catching prospects, his Minor League success has yet to translate to the Majors, albeit in a limited sample. The San Diego native slugged a career-high 28 homers and drove in 65 runs in only 84 games with Gwinnett two years ago and earned his first promotion to the bigs, going hitless in 13 at-bats. He collected his first two Major League hits last July 28 against Tampa Bay, his only knocks in seven at-bats.

Jackson made the Braves' Opening Day roster as the backup to Travis d'Arnaud. but was 1-for-23 with 13 strikeouts before being placed on the injured list May 2. In parts of three Major League seasons, the former first-round Draft pick has gone 3-for-42 with no extra-base hits or RBIs.
