ATLANTA -- Braves left fielder Matt Adams was relieved to learn the right hamstring tightness that forced him to make an early exit from Sunday afternoon's 10-8, 11-inning win over the Marlins was likely just a cramp.
As the Braves prepared to exit SunTrust Park and travel to Washington D.C., Adams did not show any obvious sign of discomfort as he walked around the clubhouse. There is a chance he will be available for Tuesday night's series opener at Nationals Park.
Adams grabbed his hamstring as he neared second base on a fifth-inning double. He initially remained in the game, but after showing some signs of discomfort, he was greeted by assistant trainer Jim Lovell, who escorted him off the field. Lane Adams entered as his replacement and later ended the game with a two-run homer off Vance Worley.

Matt Adams, who started in left field with Matt Kemp getting the day off, served as one of the Braves' most valuable offensive weapons after he was acquired from the Cardinals in May to play first base in Freddie Freeman's absence. But he has served as a bench player since Freeman moved back to first base last month.
