The Braves agreed to terms Thursday on a one-year deal with left-handed reliever Rex Brothers, thereby avoiding arbitration. Atlanta has seven other arbitration-eligible players remaining, including first baseman Matt Adams, who is a non-tender candidate as Friday's deadline approaches.
The Braves' other arbitration-eligible players are right-handers Mike Foltynewicz, Arodys Vizcaino and Dan Winkler, lefty Sam Freeman and position players Jace Peterson and Danny Santana. Those who do not immediately agree to terms will exchange salary figures with the Braves later this offseason.

Brothers, 29, became arbitration-eligible when the Braves declined to exercise his club option for 2018. Atlanta did not disclose the financial terms of his new deal.
Going 4-3 with a 7.23 ERA in 27 games last season, Brothers struck out 33 batters over 23 2/3 innings to lead the Braves with 12.55 strikeouts per nine innings (minimum 20 appearances). He was the only reliever in the Majors to fan at least 30 batters in fewer than 25 innings.
A former supplemental-round Draft pick of the Rockies, Brothers has posted a 3.76 ERA in 313 games over parts of six seasons with Colorado and Atlanta. The Braves signed him as a Minor League free agent in February, after Brothers missed the entire 2016 season trying to work his way back to the Majors. The Cubs cut him from camp in March of that year.
