Brewers bring back 'reimagined' powder blues as primary road uniform

MILWAUKEE -- Out with the road grays. In -- or back in, as it were -- with the powder blues.

The Brewers unveiled a new road uniform kit on Thursday featuring powder blue jerseys, a throwback to the look that the likes of Hank Aaron, Robin Yount, Paul Molitor and other Milwaukee stars wore away from home from the franchise’s move to Milwaukee in 1970 until the mid ‘80s.

The look -- powder blue jersey, gray pants, navy blue and yellow cap -- is replacing the traditional grays beginning next season as the Brewers’ primary road uniform, and it joins the four other looks the club will continue to wear: the primary cream home, the white with pinstripes, the navy blue road alternates and the City Connects, which are rumored to be getting a refresh of their own in 2026.

The Brewers’ current City Connect look brought back powder blue when it was introduced in June 2022, but now the color is going on the road. According to the website SportsLogos.net, the Brewers are joining the Mariners and Rays as the only club without road grays in the uniform rotation.

The Brewers described the powder blues as a blend of retro aesthetics with modern flair, and noted these details:

Powder Blue Base: A direct callback to Brewers baseball in the 1970s and 1980s, symbolizing iconic moments like multiple MVP seasons (Rollie Fingers, Yount) and a World Series appearance (1982).

Brewers Yellow Accents: One of the team’s original colors, representing Milwaukee’s brewing heritage and vibrant spirit.

Navy Blue Details: A staple since 1994, navy anchors the Brewers identity and appears as an accent on the new jersey, connecting past success with the present era.

Milwaukee wordmark: Boldly displayed across the chest, honoring the team’s responsibility to represent its city with pride on the road.

Custom Typeface: A block, slab-serif font inspired by Milwaukee’s industrial roots, reflecting strength and tradition.

“We want this jersey to represent the Milwaukee aesthetic -- vibrant, historic and full of character, while also serving as a bridge to the past and present eras of Brewers baseball,” said Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger in the club’s announcement. “Powder blue is a nostalgic color for baseball fans, and we’ve reimagined it in a way that feels fresh and uniquely ours.”

The Brewers will don their new uniforms starting in Spring Training, but fans can shop during a limited run at the Brewers Team Store at American Family Field beginning Friday at 8 a.m. CT. It also marks the start of the 2025 Clubhouse Sale, which will be open to fans on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
