BOSTON -- After playing 45 games at shortstop, is expected to get most of the playing time at third base starting Friday against the Red Sox. The Twins plan to rotate , and at shortstop. The decision at third base was made after the Twins sent Royce Lewis down to Triple-A St. Paul.

Lee is not a stranger to the hot corner. Lee has played in 56 games at third over his three-year career and has yet to make an error.

“With the personnel we have here, we feel that [Lee is going to fit us better at third],” Twins manager Derek Shelton said.

Lee is on board with the switch in positions.

“I feel good about the move. Whatever helps the team win,” Lee said. “They think I’m better at third, and I’ve shown in the past that I’ve played a great third base. I want to be in that lineup every day.”
