Played collegiately at UCLA, where he was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team as a junior in 2019 and earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2017. Selected by Chicago (NL) in the 35th round of the 2016 MLB Draft out of Davis High School (Calif.), but did not sign...selected by the Tigers in the fourth round of the 2019 MLB Draft out of UCLA.

Played in 35 games with the Tigers, batting .119/.200/.169 with a homer and two RBI...also appeared in 48 games with Triple A Toledo, hitting .200/.320/.335 with four doubles, two triples, five homers and 14 RBI...Made his season debut for the Tigers on June 11 vs. Washington, starting at shortstop and going 0-for-2 with a run scored and a walk...Had a pair of hits and two runs scored on June 13 vs. Washington...marked his fifth career multi-hit contest (last, April 4, 2023 at Houston)...scored multiple times for the third time in his career (last, Sept. 19, 2022 at Baltimore)...Notched his first career multi-stolen base game on June 25 vs. Philadelphia...Launched a two-run blast in the fifth inning on July 2 at Minnesota for his second career homer and first since Sept. 7, 2022 at Los Angeles (AL).

Limited to 49 games with Triple A Toledo in 2023 after missing much of the season due to injury...also played in 11 games with the Tigers... Made an Opening Day roster at the Major League level for the first time in his career... Recorded a multi-hit game on April 4 at Houston, going 2x4 with a run scored... Sidelined from April 28-Aug. 2 with a left knee contusion.

2022

Saw the first Major League action of his career in 2022, playing in 26 games with the Tigers....Belted a pair of solo homers as part of a 3x3 game on April 6 vs. Rochester... Sidelined from April 27-May 27 with a right hand fracture....On the injured list from June 26-July 29 with a left thigh strain....Made his Major League debut on Sept. 2 vs. Kansas City, starting at third base and going 0x2 with two runs scored and two walks...joined Riley Greene as Tigers rookies this season to have two-or-more runs scored and two-or-more walks in their debut...prior to 2022, the only other Tigers rookie to do so was Birdie Tebbetts on Sept. 16, 1936... Recorded the first two hits of his Major League career on September 3 vs. Kansas City...also drove in his first run with a sacrifice fly... Hit the first home run of his big league career in the ninth inning on Sept. 7 at Los Angeles (AL),a go-ahead solo homer...went back-to-back with Kerry Carpenter, marking the first time Tigers rookies have homered in consecutive plate appearances since July 31, 2015 at Baltimore when James McCann and Jefry Marte did so....Drove in a season-high three runs on Sept. 19 at Baltimore... 2021

Spent most of the 2021 season with Double-A Erie, before a late season promotion to Triple-A Toledo...Named a Tigers Organization All-Star by MiLB.com...Ranked fifth in Double-A Northeast with 67 runs scored...Went a perfect 4x4 with a run scored May 23 vs. Binghamton...Finished the month of August hitting .323/.405/.521 with seven doubles, four home runs and 10 RBI in 26 games between Erie and Toledo... Appeared in three games with Salt River in the Arizona Fall League and went 2-for-10 with a run scored.

2020

Worked out remotely during the 2020 season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

2019

Began his professional career in 2019, playing in 60 games with Single A Connecticut...Finished a home run shy of the cycle on July 6 vs. Vermont, going 4x6 with a double, a triple and a RBI...Hit .299/.380/.471 with six doubles, three triples, one home run and 11 RBI in 23 games during July.
