Harper was named the National League Player of the Week on Monday after he hit .550 (11-for-20) with three home runs, seven RBIs and 10 runs scored. Even more than teammates and , who are also off to sizzling starts, Harper's bat has sent the Nationals soaring to an MLB-best 13 wins.

Harper entered play Monday leading the Majors in batting (.400) and on-base percentage (.524); he ranked second in slugging (.815), homers (seven) and RBIs (20). These totals come after a week where he not only provided huge hits, but provided them in huge spots.

Harper smacked two homers -- including a grand slam -- against the Braves on Wednesday, when he reached base five times in a 14-4 Nationals win. Two days later, he homered and scored the game-winning run in a 4-3 win over the Mets.

The Player of the Week honor is the fifth in Harper's career and the first for a Nationals player this season.
