Marlins skipper ejected for second straight game

MIAMI -- Upset over a called third strike, center fielder and manager Don Mattingly each were tossed by home-plate umpire Andy Fletcher in the first inning of Monday night's 6-5 loss against the Cardinals.
Yelich took a 2-2 curveball offering from St. Louis right-hander . Fletcher rung up Yelich, who initially stayed in the box and had a few words.
After Yelich returned to the dugout, stepped to the plate. Some more words were said in the direction of Fletcher, and Yelich was tossed for the first time this season. Mattingly came to the plate and spoke briefly with Fletcher before he also was tossed, the second straight night Mattingly was ejected.
On Monday, in a 9-4 loss to St. Louis, Mattingly also was sent to the clubhouse for disputing balls and strikes, in the second inning.

Yelich contested the 71.5-mph curveball was outside, and according to Statcast™, it did track just off the plate.
Mattingly has been ejected three times this year.
