The Athletes Unlimited Softball League has already seen some history in its second season, including an incredible 12-strikeout game from Utah Talons pitcher Montana Fouts. It’s not absurd to say we’re also watching the best offensive season to date in the league’s young history.
Maya Brady is officially on Triple Crown watch.
With a single on Monday, the Oklahoma City Spark utility player now has a hit in all 10 games she’s played in this season, continuing an overall 16-game streak dating back to last season. She debuted late in 2025 because of injury, meaning she has a hit in every single game she’s played in the professional ranks.

Furthermore, Brady went yard on Sunday to obtain the solo lead in home runs (5) among all AUSL batters in 2026. Rounding out her potential Triple Crown bid, Brady also leads in RBIs (11) and is tied for the lead in batting average (.500). It would be the first Triple Crown in the AUSL’s two-year history if Brady keeps pace.
Though they don’t count toward the crown race, Brady also leads the league in on-base percentage (.590) and runs scored (13). Perhaps her biggest challenger in winning that esteemed title is exciting Carolina Blaze rookie catcher Reese Atwood, who in seven games leads the AUSL in slugging percentage (1.188) and OPS (1.767), while she has matched Brady’s .500 average.
The Chicago Bandits also have a pair of noteworthy performances thus far, with Sami Williams hitting .478 with eight RBIs and Mary Iakopo at .474 with five RBIs. However, both Bandits are a bit behind pace with two homers apiece.
Brady began her career last year with the title-winning Utah Talons before she became the No. 1 overall pick in December’s Expansion Draft, and she has certainly rewarded Oklahoma City for that choice.
And yes, her family lineage is impressive, as the daughter of All-American softball star Maureen Brady and the niece of Tom Brady and Kevin Youkilis. But Maya has become quite the superstar in her own right.
She’s becoming appointment television in the AUSL with a little more than one-third of the season in the books.
Talons on top again
Speaking of the Talons, their 2025 title and Fouts’ dominant pitching, the club topped Brady and the Spark on Monday in a 5-1 victory. Fouts spun another complete game with one run allowed, lowering her season ERA to 1.81. Brady’s single was one of just four hits for the Spark.
The win was the fourth in a row for Utah after being swept by the Portland Cascade in the season’s second series. It moved the Talons back to the top of the league table at 7-3, vying for another championship run.
