Card freaks and uniform geeks, rejoice: Two shows to premiere on MLB Network

May 6th, 2023

Baseball is so much more than what simply happens for nine innings in between the foul lines. There's the fantasy teams to track and worry over, the ballpark food to dream of tasting, and, of course, there are those of us who spend hours organizing card collections or gazing lovingly at the newest uniform releases.

If you fall into the latter camp, you're in luck: Available now for MLB.TV subscribers and debuting at 11 a.m. this Sunday, May 7, on MLB Network is the new season of "MLB's Carded," and the debut season of "Inside Stitch."

First up, at 11 a.m., is "Inside Stitch." Hosted by A.J. Andrews, the show delves into the wacky, weird, and wooly history of baseball uniforms. The debut episode breaks down the recent Twins rebrand, looks at some of the best Minor League theme nights and debates over just which powder blue uniform is best:

And, I suppose for transparency's sake, I should also admit: You can learn about the history of the greatest uniform accessory -- the stirrup sock -- from me!

Next up, at 11:30 a.m. is the newest season of MLB's Carded, hosted by Greg Amsinger. The debut episode of season three features famed artist and card designer Alex Pardee breaking down his nightmarish creations:

A Topps photographer also explains their crazy cool job, there's a pack rip -- a crucial part of each episode -- and even Mike Trout and Julio Rodriguéz came by to talk about his history with the hobby:

Be sure to tune into to MLB Network this weekend to watch. Should you miss them, Carded and Inside Stitch episodes are always available to stream on MLB.TV.
