The Cardinals' No. 2 prospect (No. 50 overall) upped that total to 13 on Sunday with his first career three-homer game, finishing 3-for-5 with four RBIs in Triple-A Memphis' 7-4 win over Colorado Springs.
O'Neill launched the first of his three homers in his first trip to the plate, as he followed Luke Voit's solo shot with one of his own for back-to-back Redbirds home runs. He went deep again in the third inning, this time hitting an opposite-field solo shot with two outs, and after striking out in the fifth, the 23-year-old outfielder delivered a key two-run blast in the seventh that extended Memphis' lead.
The multi-homer performance, O'Neill's fifth of the season, pushed his Minor League total to 23 home runs, giving him a share of a the Pacific Coast League lead with Salt Lake's Jabari Blash.
O'Neill's actually gone deep 26 times in 75 games this season including his 19 games in the Majors with St. Louis.
It's the fourth straight year in which O'Neill's hit at least 24 homers, and he's on pace to surpass the career-high 32 home runs he posted in 2015 over 106 games in the Class A Advanced California League.
