Pipeline Preview: O'Neill ready for decisive Game 5

September 17th, 2017

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:
Hitter to watch: (Cardinals No. 4), Memphis vs. El Paso (8:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
O'Neill, the No. 92 overall prospect, has impressed since he was traded from the Mariners to the Cardinals, and the Redbirds are hoping for one more big game as the Pacific Coast League championship is on the line in Game 5 of the finals. O'Neill, who hit .253 with 12 homers in 13 games with Memphis, has also hit four homers in nine postseason games.

Pitcher to watch: Dennis Santana (Dodgers' No. 12), Tulsa vs. Midland (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Santana takes the ball in the decisive fifth game of the Texas League Finals. After Tulsa took a 2-0 lead in the series, Midland has stormed back and won each of the past two games, but Santana will be looking to put that streak to an end and lead the Drillers to a title. The 21-year-old posted a 4.11 ERA in 24 games (21 starts) across two levels this season but struggled a bit once he was promoted to Double-A, as he had a 5.51 ERA in seven regular-season starts with Tulsa.
