Catcher Bryan Holaday claimed on waivers by Boston

The Texas Rangers today announced that catcher Bryan Holaday has been claimed on outright waivers by the Boston Red Sox.

The Texas Rangers today announced that catcher Bryan Holaday has been claimed on outright waivers by the Boston Red Sox.
 
Holaday was activated from the 15-day disabled list and was designated for assignment on August 1. He batted .324 (11-34) with 2 homers and 9 RBI in 11 games on rehab assignment at Triple-A Round Rock. Holaday was placed on the DL on July 5 with a left thumb bruise. He batted .238 with 2 homers and 13 RBI in 28 games with the Rangers after being acquired from Detroit on March 29.
 
The Rangers major league roster remains at the 40-man limit.
