Pinder activated off DL; A's option Barreto

The A's reinstated infielder/outfielder from the 10-day disabled list on Monday. Pinder had been sidelined with a hyperextended left knee. In a corresponding move, Oakland optioned infielder to Triple-A Nashville.
Prior to being placed on the DL on April 7 (retroactive to April 6), Pinder was 4-for-13 (.308) with one homer. In 2017, Pinder hit .238/.292/.457 with 15 home runs in 87 games for the A's.
Barreto, 22, is Oakland's No. 3-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline. He appeared in one game for the A's after being recalled, but he did not have an at-bat. Last season at Nashville, Barreto slashed .290/.339/.456 with 15 homers and 15 steals in 111 games. In 25 games with Oakland last year, he was 14-for-71 (.197) with one double, two triples and two home runs.
