PHILADELPHIA -- Rockies leadoff man Charlie Blackmon is baseball's version of Michael Phelps with his various swim moves.
For the second time this season, Blackmon made a swim move on a tag -- offering one limb, then pulling it back to avoid a tag and reaching base with another limb. Each time, he was called out originally, but a replay review changed the call.
In Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park, he made the high-degree-of-difficulty swim move with his feet this time, eluding the tag of second baseman César Hernández to earn a third-inning double. It took a 2-minute, 9-second review to determine that he moved the left foot away and reached the bag with his right. Blackmon's slick move earned the Rockies a run, as the next batter, DJ LeMahieu, doubled him home.
On July 17 at Atlanta, Blackmon seemed beaten by Braves pitcher Julio Teheran's pick off move, only to beat first baseman Freddie Freeman's tag by pulling his right hand and touching the base with his left.
