CHICAGO – It was a busy Saturday for the White Sox.

Center fielder Tristan Peters was named an All-Star before the game, and then the organization selected shortstop Roch Cholowsky with the top pick overall in the 2026 Draft and Landon Thome -- son of Jim -- at No. 34. They finished off activities with a 1-0 victory over the Athletics at Rate Field, giving them 11 series wins at home in their last 12.

The lone run scored in the sixth when doubled home Colson Montgomery, making a winner of Erick Fedde, who followed Bryan Hudson and Chris Murphy as the bulk hurler. Fedde threw four scoreless innings, striking out three.

Defense saved the day for the White Sox, with Luisangel Acuña making three stellar plays at shortstop and Randal Grichuk saving two runs with a diving catch in left.
