Colas equals career best with four hits for Knights (Sept. 26)
Oscar Colas is finding Triple-A to Charlotte to his liking.

The No. 2 White Sox prospect shook off his first 0-fer with the Knights by collecting his third four-hit game of the season in a 6-2 loss to visiting Durham. The four hits equaled a career high for Colas, who has hit safely in five of six games since his promotion from Double-A Birmingham.

The 24-year-old doubled and singled three times to improve his slash line with Charlotte to .407/.448/.704 with four extra-base hits in 27 at-bats. It's a continuation of what has been a breakout campaign for the first-year pro. Colas began the season with High-A Winston-Salem before moving up to Birmingham and finally Charlotte.

Colas continues hot start with Triple-A Charlotte (Sept. 24)
just put the Minors' highest level on notice.

The second-ranked White Sox prospect, who quickly earned a reputation throughout his rookie campaign for displaying brute raw power, hammered a pair of jaw-droppers for his first two long balls at the Triple-A level -- as part of a three-hit night that included a double, four runs scored and three RBIs -- to help muscle Charlotte's 13-11 victory in 10 innings over Jacksonville at 121 Financial Ballpark.

It was the Cuban native's fourth game with the Knights.

After hitting safely in all three of his games since joining the Knights -- collecting four knocks and a walk -- Colas flipped the power switch against the Jumbo Shrimp. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound outfielder led off the game with his first extra-base hit in the International League. Full story »

Another day, another homer for Lenyn Sosa.

The No. 4 White Sox prospect has had no shortage of power this season, hitting his 24th homer of the year on Friday as he went 3-for-5 with two runs in Triple-A Charlotte’s 7-5 win over Jacksonville.

The 22-year-old showcased his power in his first at-bat, crushing  a solo shot to right-center field in the first inning. Sosa continued to stay productive, capping off his night with two singles.

Montgomery crushes grand slam for first Double-A homer (Sept. 10)
All it took was one swing from Colson Montgomery to put his team on top.

MLB Pipeline's No. 60 overall prospect hammered his 10th homer of the season, and it was a big one in Double-A Birmingham's 5-0 win over Chattanooga.

The first-round (22nd overall) selection in the 2021 Draft blasted a grand slam to right field in the sixth inning, putting an exclamation point on a five-run inning. This was the 20-year-old's first homer since being promoted to the Barons on Aug. 23. He finished the night 2-for-4.

Montgomery has jumped two levels after beginning the season with Single-A Kannapolis and being promoted to High-A Winston-Salem on June 24.

Sosa smashes 20th Minor League homer (Aug. 31)
Lenyn Sosa's power has gradually increased throughout his Minor League career. He managed home run totals in the single digits in each of his first three professional seasons before reaching 11 last year.

Now, the No. 4 White Sox prospect has reached 20 homers in the Minors for the first time in his career. Sosa, who also hit one during his 11-game stint in the Majors earlier this year, hit his sixth at the Triple-A level in Charlotte's 9-6 loss to Durham.

The 22-year-old hit 14 long balls for Double-A Birmingham before making the multilevel leap to Chicago. Sosa's output with the Barons and Knights, who he joined in late June, puts him tied for second in the organization behind Craig Dedlow's 23 dingers. -- Jacob Resnick

Prospects galore in Double-A blowout win (Aug. 23)
Productivity at the plate and masterfulness on the mound lead to a successful outcome nearly every time, and that's what Double-A Birmingham had in its 11-7 win over Mississippi.

The White Sox had a haul of prospects handle business in the victory: No. 5 Bryan Ramos and No. 13 Yoelqui Céspedes did work in the batter's box while No. 9 Sean Burke got the Barons' pitching rotation started on the right path on the bump.

Burke set the pace with five scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while fanning a career-high nine batters.

Ramos and Céspedes highlighted their multihit games with a pair of homers in the eighth inning to seal the team's win. In his first game at Double-A, Ramos hammered a three-run homer to left-center field.

Céspedes followed with a solo shot to left-center for his 14th homer of the season with the Barons.

Rodriguez homers in third consecutive game (Aug. 14)
Jose Rodriguez has been on one of the most exciting types of hit streaks, a home run streak.

The White Sox's third-ranked prospect has hit a jack in three straight contests following his performance in Double-A Birmingham's 13-12 loss to Pensacola.

The 21-year-old's first hit of the evening came on a double to right field in the fifth inning. He's tied for eighth in the Southern League with 21 doubles this year. The designated hitter launched his eighth homer of the season and third in three straight games on a go-ahead solo shot to left-center as part of a three-run sixth inning.

Although that may have been Rodriguez's last hit of the night, he still put pressure on the opposition after being hit by a pitch in the 12th and stealing second while JJ Muno stole third. He is second in the Southern League in stolen bases with 40 on the season. A single by Craig Dedelow brought home Muno and Rodriguez scored on a wild pitch, but the Blue Wahoos surged back in the bottom of the 12th to secure the win. -- Ethan Sands

Montgomery smashes homer in three-hit game at High-A (Aug. 13)
One way to do your part in a win, score the go-ahead run twice in a single game. Colson Montgomery was up for the task.

The White Sox's top-ranked prospect did everything it took to pull out High-A Winston-Salem's 3-2 victory over Bowling Green.

The 22nd overall pick in the 2021 Draft tallied the Dash's first hit of the night with a single to center field in the first inning. He followed with a solo shot to right-center for his fifth homer at High-A to put his team up 2-1 in the sixth. And when his team needed him most, he singled to lead off the bottom of the ninth and scored from third on a walk-off sacrifice fly by Ben Norman.

Colas tallies homers in back-to-back games (Aug. 11)
Oscar Colas hasn't slowed down since being promoted to Double-A.

The White Sox second-ranked prospect has been on a tear since being elevated on July 12.

His reign of terror against opposing pitchers continued in Birmingham's 5-4 loss to Pensacola.

Although the 23-year-old only registered one hit in the game, he made it count. He blasted a towering three-run homer to left field in the eighth inning, bringing his team within one in the late stages of a tight game.

The three-run jack marked back-to-back games with a homer for Colas after he smashed a solo shot in the ninth during the previous outing against Pensacola. That's already his eighth homer with the Barons in just 19 games with the club. -- Ethan Sands

Céspedes showcases power in multihomer game (Aug.6)
When Yoelqui Céspedes hits homers, he likes to do it in twos.

The White Sox No. 4 prospect had not homered in his last 13 games. Céspedes finally broke that streak with his second multihomer game of the season, going 3-for-4 with two homers in Double-A Birmingham’s 14-9 loss to Chattanooga.

The 24-year-old’s power display came early as he crushed a solo shot to left-center field in the second inning. Céspedes was not done there as he hit his second solo long ball of the night in the seventh inning.

Rodriguez homers in second straight game for Birmingham (Aug. 4)
What's been a subpar year for Jose Rodriguez in terms of home runs has perked up noticeably over the past week.

The No. 3 White Sox prospect went deep for a second consecutive game and for the third time in four contests during Double-A Birmingham's 6-5 win in 11 innings over visiting Chattanooga. Rodriguez, who hit 14 homers across three Minor League levels in 2021, had one in his first 87 games this season.

Although his numbers don't measure up to his .301/.338/.469 slash line of a year ago, the 21-year-old shortstop has established career highs with 54 RBIs and 38 stolen bases. Rodriguez is batting .269 with a .702 OPS. -- Michael Avallone

Dash's Osik hits for cycle in front of family (Aug. 3)
Although he grew up 78 miles away, Tyler Osik had never been to Coney Island before.

But after combining for seven knocks in his first two games -- including hitting for the cycle in the second contest -- at High-A Brooklyn’s famed home -- the White Sox prospect was right at home. Osik’s milestone came in Winston-Salem’s 8-0 victory at Maimonides Park.

“It feels amazing,” he said. “Especially because I'm from Long Island, and to do it in front of my family and friends is so cool.”

With 10-15 familiar faces in the crowd for Game 1 of the series, Osik went 3-for-4 with a home run. The following day, the Central Florida product had five to six family members and friends there to watch him hit for the cycle for the first time in his life -- and it only took eight total pitches. Ramos caps July with multihomer game (July 31)
Bryan Ramos had enjoyed a strong July, but the No. 8 White Sox prospect truly capped the month with a flourish.

Ramos connected on a pair of home runs for High-A Winston-Salem against Greensboro. Both jacks bookended the Dash's 8-4 win, with his first getting his team on the board in the opening frame before providing insurance with a three-run homer in the ninth.

The effort represented a nice finish to an exceptional month for Ramos. In 20 games, the outfielder hit .284 with an .853 OPS. He's now up to 17 home runs on the year, equaling his total from his first two pro seasons combined. -- Jacob Resnick

Colas records 2nd multihomer game in 3 nights (July 27)
It took Oscar Colas half of his first Minor League season to prove he was too good for the High-A South Atlantic League. Just over a week in, the Double-A Southern League might not be much of a challenge either.

The second-ranked White Sox prospect left the yard twice for the second time in three games as part of a four-hit effort in the Birmingham Barons’ 8-3 win over the Tennessee Smokies.

Facing No. 7 Cubs prospect Jordan Wicks in the third inning, Colas wasn’t fazed by the left-on-left matchup. The outfielder was caught off balance by a two-strike curveball but used his 60-grade strength to flick it on a line over the wall in right field. Full story »

Vera delivers hitless outing for Kannapolis (July 15)
Norge Vera's first taste of full season baseball continues to move along swimmingly.

The No. 5 White Sox prospect posted a hitless start -- his third in six outings since being promoted to Single-A -- and struck out seven over 3 1/3 innings in Kannapolis' eventual 5-0 loss to Salem. Four walks led to two runs and the loss for Vera.

The 22-year-old Cuban righty joined the Cannon Ballers on June 9 and sports a 2.65 ERA in 17 innings. Though he's working as a starter, Vera is continuing to build up his pitch count, which has reached 60 pitches in each of his last two outings. In those starts, he struck out a combined 15 in seven innings. -- Jacob Resnick
