The Dodgers announced Wednesday that they have avoided arbitration with right-handed reliever Chris Hatcher. The deal was reported to be worth $1.065 million.
Hatcher, who turned 31 on Tuesday, went 3-5 with a 3.69 ERA and four saves in 49 relief appearances in his first season with the Dodgers after pitching for the Marlins from 2011-14. He missed two months with an oblique injury, but after returning on Aug. 15 he posted a 1.31 ERA, holding opponents to a .181 batting average in his final 22 regular-season appearances.

The deal leaves the Dodgers with five arbitration-eligible players -- Kenley Jansen, Yasmani Grandal, Justin Turner, Scott Van Slyke and Luis Avilan. Teams and players are scheduled to exchange figures Friday. If agreements can't be reached, arbitration hearings will be scheduled next month.
The Dodgers also reached a Minor League agreement with former Braves, Astros and Twins outfielder Jordan Schafer, 29, according to various reports.
