Nats respond in 7th with homer by Heisey
October 14th, 2016
WASHINGTON -- With the Nationals down three runs to the Dodgers in the seventh inning of Game 5 of the National League Division Series on Thursday, Chris Heisey launched a two-run home run to left field to get Washington back into the game. Los Angeles would hold on for a 4-3 win to advance to the NLCS against the Cubs.
Heisey's blast, off an 0-2 fastball from Dodgers pitcher Grant Dayton, left his bat at 106 miles per hour and traveled a projected 386 feet, per Statcast™. Heisey pinch-hit for Jose Lobaton after Danny Espinosa led off the seventh with a walk.
The homer cut the Nationals' deficit to 4-3, after a four-run Dodgers rally had put Los Angeles ahead in the top of the seventh.
