Kershaw pitches in Freeway Finale on MLB.TV

June 29th, 2017

The Freeway Series has been full of intrigue thus far, and tonight's finale should be no different as one of the game's very best, , takes the mound at Angel Stadium live on MLB.TV.
Despite a newfound vulnerability to the long ball, Kershaw has been his usual dependable self in 2017, among baseball's five best pitchers in terms of wins, ERA, innings pitched, strikeouts and WHIP. His last outing was a return to form. After giving up a career-high four homers to the Mets in his previous outing, he fanned eight in six innings' work on Saturday.
His opponent may not be as much of a household name, but J.C. Ramirez is coming off a solid outing of his own. The Halos righty notched six innings of one-run ball his last time out, recovering from an ugly game of his own, and will look to continue that uptick during tonight's 10:07 ET start.

Time to Cash in: TEX@CLE, 12:10 p.m.
makes his return from the disabled list tonight after an oblique strain sidelined him for more than two weeks. Cashner, who carries a 3.50 ERA this year, says he's ready to pitch, but the reigning American League champions will be doing their best to make it a not-so-warm welcome.
Not only will Cashner be working in enemy territory at Progressive Field, he'll be contending with perennial Cy Young candidate , who struck out a season-high 13 batters Saturday and hasn't allowed an earned run in 21 straight innings.

Don't lead off on Lester: CHC@WAS, 4:05 p.m.
Cubs fans have bemoaned their team's propensity for giving up a lot of stolen bases -- Chicago has the dubious honor of leading the majors in that category in 2017.
The Nationals made sure to capitalize on that weakness in the first game of a three-game series Monday, swiping seven bags against and tying a franchise record in the process. And while , who stole four stolen bases in that game, remains a threat in the Washington lineup, the Cubs hope to neutralize that threat by sending , who leads baseball with seven caught stealings this year, to the mound. He'll go against Washington's Joe Ross.

Price is right: MIN@BOS, 7:10 p.m.
Two of the American League's best wrap up a three-game stint tonight in Boston as faces off against .
Price (2-2, 4.76 ERA) has been up and down since his return from the disabled list in late May, but has showed improvement in his last few outings, whittling down his walk counts and adding velocity. He'll look to pitch into the seventh inning for the first time this year.
Gibson (4-5, 6.23 ERA) is 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 20 2/3 innings pitched in three starts against Boston.
