Kershaw set to start for Double-A Tulsa Tuesday

April 8th, 2019

DENVER -- Dodgers ace said he will make his second Minor League rehabilitation start on Tuesday night at Double-A Tulsa.

Kershaw said he selected Tulsa over Triple-A Oklahoma City, which plays in Omaha, because of a favorable weather forecast, as well as better facilities being at home with the Drillers rather than on the road with OKC.

Kershaw began the season on the injured list because of left shoulder inflammation. In an initial rehab start against San Antonio on Thursday, Kershaw allowed two runs on four hits in 4 1/3 innings, with six strikeouts, two walks, a pickoff and a home run allowed. He made 61 pitches and said he would aim for 75-80 next time.

If he gets there, Kershaw conceivably could rejoin the Dodgers five days later, which would be Sunday, April 14, against Milwaukee at Dodger Stadium. When Kershaw returns to the rotation, Sunday night starter Julio Urias is expected to be sent to the bullpen. Urias, however, will start on Friday against Milwaukee at Dodger Stadium.
