SEATTLE -- Awards season is on the horizon in Major League Baseball, and it’s shaping up that the Mariners could be represented.

has already been named a finalist for the Gold Glove Award at second base in the American League, which would be a huge achievement for the 23-year-old following his first full season in the Majors. It’s also likely that will be a finalist for a Silver Slugger Award, though those finalists won’t be announced until Nov. 6.

Arozarena is also in the mix for the All-MLB Teams, which recognizes and commemorates the top performances by players during the 2026 regular season. Those include a first team of the very best players at each position, combining the American and National Leagues, and a second team among the next tier.

Seattle’s other nominees include designated hitter and starting pitcher .

The All-MLB Awards are not expected to announce finalists and instead will be revealed on Nov. 11 in Las Vegas during a special show and ceremony, live on MLB Network.

On Nov. 6, the league-wide Heart & Hustle Award winner will be announced. Created by the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association in 2005, this honor is voted on by alumni and active players and is presented annually to an active player who demonstrates a passion for the game of baseball and best embodies the values, spirit and traditions of the game. Outfielder is Seattle's finalist for this.

Also, the Roberto Clemente Award will be bestowed later tonight ahead of Game 3 of the World Series. Julio Rodríguez is the Mariners’ nominee for the first time.

The grander individual performance awards -- those from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America -- will be announced the week of Nov. 9. That includes Manager of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Cy Young and MVP in both the AL and NL. It’s not expected that the Mariners will have a finalist for any of those honors.

Let’s specifically zero in on Young and his candidacy for the sport’s top defensive honor at his position.

Young led all AL second basemen in nearly every defensive category, including games played (157), innings (1,350 1/3), putouts (223), assists (397), fielding percentage (.990) and defensive runs saved (16).

He could become the first Mariners Gold Glove Award winner since catcher Cal Raleigh and utility player Dylan Moore in 2024. He’d be the first Mariners infielder to take home the hardware since shortstop J.P. Crawford in 2020 and Seattle’s third second baseman to win the award, joining Bret Boone (three times, 2002-04) and Harold Reynolds (three times, 1988-90).

Young is joined by fellow finalists Michael Massey of the Royals and Chase Meidroth of the White Sox at his position. The winners will be announced on Sunday at 6 p.m. PT during a live ESPN broadcast.
