Colorado Rockies Acquire Infielder Connor Norby and Right-Handed Pitcher Aiden May from the Miami Marlins in Exchange for Right-Handed Pitcher Victor Vodnik

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have acquired infielder Connor Norby and Minor League right-handed pitcher Aiden May via trade with the Miami Marlins in exchange for right-handed pitcher Victor Vodnik.

Norby, 26, has played the past three seasons with Miami after being acquired via trade with Baltimore on July 30, 2024 … the Kernersville, N.C., native has slashed .234/.302/.383 with 38 doubles, one triple, 21 home runs and 70 RBI across 198 Major League games in his career, logging 125 games at third base, 43 at first base, 12 at second base and 19 as the designated hitter … in 23 games with Triple-A Jacksonville this season, batting .265 (22-for-83) with six doubles, four home runs and 15 RBI … originally selected by Baltimore in the second round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft out of East Carolina University.

May, 23, has pitched to a 3.80 ERA (68.2 IP, 29 ER) across 14 starts with High-A Beloit this season, going 4-3 with 24 walks and 58 strikeouts … the Albuquerque, N.M., native has posted a 3.47 ERA (96.0 IP, 37 ER) across 24 Minor League outings (23 starts) with 40 walks and 88 strikeouts … originally selected by Miami in the Competitive Balance-B round of the 2024 First-Year Player Draft out of Oregon State University.

Vodnik, 26, has gone 3-3 with a 5.25 ERA (36.0 IP, 21 ER), 19 walks and 26 strikeouts across 33 outings with the Rockies this season … in parts of four seasons with Colorado, went 13-10 with a 4.31 ERA (169.0 IP, 81 ER), 23 saves, 14 walks and 85 strikeouts … was originally acquired (along with RHP Tanner Gordon) via trade with the Atlanta Braves on July 24, 2023 in exchange for RHP Pierce Johnson.

The Rockies have 38 players on the 40-man roster.
