In collaboration with Major League Baseball, the Colorado Rockies today announced the preliminary schedule for 2018, when they will celebrate their 25th Anniversary, having played their inaugural season in MLB as an expansion team in 1993. To commemorate the organization's silver anniversary, the Rockies have developed a special logo that will be featured throughout the 2018 season.
Merchandise featuring the 25th Anniversary logo will be available beginning November 2017 at all Colorado Rockies Dugout Stores. Go to Rockies.com/dugoutstores.
Beginning with the home opener of this silver anniversary season on Friday, April 6, and throughout the season, there will be special anniversary game dates, events and promotions to celebrate the franchise's history (more details to come).
The first day to purchase tickets for the 2018 season will be announced at a later date. For ticket information, please call (303) ROCKIES or visit Rockies.com/tickets.
The Rockies open the 25th Anniversary campaign on the road at Arizona for a three-game series, March 29-31, and San Diego for a four-game set, April 2-5. The Rockies then return home to Coors Field to host the Atlanta Braves for a weekend series, beginning with the club's home opener, on Friday, April 6.
The Rockies schedule includes home games on Mother's Day (May 13 vs. Milwaukee Brewers), Memorial Day (May 28 vs. San Francisco Giants), Independence Day (July 4 vs. Giants) and Labor Day (Sept. 3 vs. Giants). The annual fireworks shows are scheduled for Tuesday, July 3 and Wednesday, July 4, after games against the Giants, as well as Friday, Sept. 28, following the game against the Washington Nationals.
The Rockies' Interleague schedule has them playing four American League West teams. Colorado will host the Los Angeles Angels (May 8-9), Seattle Mariners (July 13-15), Houston Astros (July 24-25) and Oakland Athletics (July 27-29) at Coors Field.
Against each of their four National League West rivals at home, Colorado will host 10 games against the Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks, and nine games against the Giants and San Diego Padres. The Rockies conclude their 2018 regular season at home with a three-game weekend series vs. the Washington Nationals, Sept. 28-30.
A printable version of the Rockies' 25th Anniversary Season schedule accompanies this release. All game dates are subject to change. This month, on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, all fans will receive a 2018 Colorado Rockies Magnet Schedule (with home game times) at the Coors Field gates, and that game versus the Dodgers will be followed by Fan Appreciation Postgame Fireworks, presented by Great Clips.
