Colorado Rockies recall right-handed pitcher Yency Almonte

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Yency Almonte from Triple-A Albuquerque and placed right-handed pitcher Bryan Shaw on the 10-day disabled list with a right calf strain.

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Yency Almonte from Triple-A Albuquerque and placed right-handed pitcher Bryan Shaw on the 10-day disabled list with a right calf strain.
 
•  Almonte, 24, was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque yesterday … was originally recalled on Thursday for his first stint on the Major League roster … made his Major League debut that evening, pitching a hitless inning of relief with a sacrifice fly … made his second appearance Friday and allowed two unearned runs on one hit and one walk with his first Major League strikeout … has made nine starts with Albuquerque this season, going 1-4 with a 6.27 ERA (33.0 IP, 23 ER) … in 109 career Minor League appearances, including 101 starts, has gone 36-34 with a 4.09 ERA (552.0 IP, 251 ER), 194 walks and 453 strikeouts … was acquired by the Rockies via trade with the Chicago White Sox in exchange for right-handed pitcher Tommy Kahnle, Nov. 24, 2015 … originally selected by Los Angeles-AL in the 17th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft.
