BALTIMORE -- Last year, the Orioles didn’t orchestrate their first walk-off win of the season until their 120th game (and 59th home contest) on Aug. 13, 2025. It was a bit of a long wait for an on-field celebration in Baltimore, as the O’s were the last MLB team to record a walk-off victory.

The wait wasn’t quite as long in 2026.

The Orioles rallied for a 5-3 victory over the Tigers in the first game of a Sunday afternoon doubleheader at Camden Yards, winning on ’s walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Baltimore (23-29) will have an opportunity to sweep the twin bill (and the three-game series vs. Detroit) with a win in the nightcap.

The walk-off came in the O’s 52nd game (and 26th home contest) of the season.

Jackson Holliday got the winning rally started, drawing a one-out walk against Detroit closer Kenley Jansen and then stealing second base with ease. Then, Jansen issued another walk, putting Leody Taveras on first.

After Jeremiah Jackson flied out to center field for the second out of the inning, Holliday and Taveras executed a double steal to put a pair of runners in scoring position. That set the stage for Cowser, who blasted his second homer of the season to right-center to walk it off.

Cowser’s game-ending home run traveled a Statcast-projected 440 feet. It left his bat at an exit velocity of 111.5 mph.
