Seager rests again with mid-back discomfort

March 5th, 2017

PHOENIX -- Dodgers shortstop missed a second game on Sunday with mid-back discomfort, but manager Dave Roberts insisted the injury is minor, and he expects the National League Rookie of the Year Award winner to play by Tuesday.
Roberts said Seager will resume workouts with the club on Monday. He apparently was injured making an awkward throw in Friday's game, after missing the three previous games with a bruised right shin sustained on a foul ball.

"It might be a day or two," said Seager. "It's not serious, it's not outrageous, it's just March, it's early. It will be a day-by-day kind of thing. We don't want it to linger."
Seager said his back bothered him more turning and reaching to the left to throw. He said swinging was not a problem. He did not have an MRI exam.
Seager missed nearly two weeks last spring with a twisted left knee, but he still posted one of the greatest rookie seasons in Dodgers history.
