Cuban outfielder Alexei Bell is one of the most intriguing players on the market, and Monday he showed why.
Bell, 32, starred in his first showcase in front of scouts for the A's, Blue Jays, Cardinals, D-backs, Dodgers, Giants, Marlins, Padres, Phillies, Reds, Red Sox, Royals and Yankees at the Universidad Autonoma De Baja California in Mexicali, Mexico.

Bell, who left Cuba last month, is waiting to be declared a free agent by Major League Baseball. He combined to hit 15 home runs during batting practice and against live pitching in the 75-minute showcase. He also fielded balls in right field and threw to third base and home, and ran the 60-yard dash with a fastest time of 6.65 seconds.
Bell could begin private workouts for teams in Arizona and Florida, but will need formal invitations from teams in order to acquire a visitor visa.
Back in Cuba, Bell played 13 seasons in Cuba's Serie Nacional, the island's top league, primarily for Santiago and later with Matanzas in 2014. He also played 59 games for Quebec in the Canadian-American Association last season, hitting .317 with 14 doubles, two triples and two home runs. He drove in 23 runs.
For his career, Bell sports a .319 batting average with 138 home runs and 632 RBIs, with 187 doubles and 31 triples in 659 games.
In international competition, Bell won a silver medal with Cuba in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and was an integral part of Cuba's gold-medal teams at the '10 International Baseball Cup, and the '14 Central American and Caribbean Games. Bell was also a member of Cuba's World Baseball Classic team in 2013.
