Cubs activate righthander Pedro Strop

The Chicago Cubs today activated right-handed pitcher Pedro Strop off of the 15-day disabled list.

The Chicago Cubs today activated right-handed pitcher Pedro Strop off of the 15-day disabled list. Strop will be available for the Cubs this afternoon as they begin their three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field.
Strop, 31, is 2-2 with 21 holds and a 2.89 ERA (14 ER/43.2 IP) in 50 relief appearances with the Cubs this season. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left meniscus tear on August 11.
Chicago's active roster now stands at 35 players.
