WASHINGTON -- The Cubs' Kristopher Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Jason Heyward need some votes this week in order to start in the 2017 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard, which will be played July 11 in Miami.
Bryant has received 1,978,692 votes in the latest Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot update, released Monday, while the Rockies' Nolan Arenado is close behind with 1,920,610. Bryant is bidding for his second consecutive fan-elected start, while Arenado is trying to become the first Rockies third baseman to earn a fan election.
Rizzo ranks second to the Nationals' Ryan Zimmerman in the NL voting at first base. Rizzo has received 1,601,245 votes, while Zimmerman leads the NL field with 1,728,607. Rizzo has reached base safely in 17 of his past 18 starts, and he has thrived in the leadoff spot.

The Nationals' Bryce Harper and the Rockies' Charlie Blackmon lead the NL outfield race, and the Marlins' Marcell Ozuna has passed Heyward to move into third. Ozuna has received 1,270,464 votes while Heyward has 1,241,194. The Cubs' Benjamin Zobrist is fifth with 1,122,946 votes.
Chicago's Javier Baez was second among NL second basemen as the Nationals' Daniel Murphy has received more than 3 million votes. Baez has totaled 1,654,829 so far. Willson Contreras (1,216,513 votes) was second among NL catchers to the Giants' Buster Posey (2,530,713) and Addison Russell (1,204,204) was third among shortstops behind the Reds' Zack Cozart (1,915,806) and the Dodgers' Corey Seager (1,657,732).
Cozart is aiming for his first career All-Star selection, while Seager is attempting to earn his first starting assignment and second All-Star selection overall in his second full season.

The Cubs made All-Star history last year by becoming the second team to have its entire infield start an All-Star Game, as Rizzo, Zobrist, Russell and Bryant were elected to the NL team. The only other team to accomplish that feat was the 1963 Cardinals.

The Esurance All-Star Selection Show will take place on Sunday at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN. Following the unveiling of the 2017 All-Star starters, reserves and pitchers, fans should return to MLB.com and cast their 2017 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote for the final player on each league's All-Star roster. Then on Tuesday, July 11, while watching the 2017 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard live on FOX, fans may visit MLB.com to submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet with the 2017 MLB All-Star Game MVP Vote.
