PEORIA, Ariz. -- The Cubs' Kyle Schwarber came out of Thursday's 10-8 loss to the Mariners in the third inning because of left knee soreness, saying he tweaked his knee while making a throw in the second inning.
"I felt it on the throw, just tweaked it a little bit, but it feels better now, better than what happened out there," Schwarber said. "It was just on the follow-through on a throw, I tweaked it a little bit. I took the at-bat [in the third], and it didn't feel good and wanted to come in and get it taken care of."

Schwarber, who started in left field, flew out to center in the first and popped up to second in the third inning before he exited. He's been playing the outfield and catching this spring, hoping to play both positions this season.
"I definitely feel I've been balancing the work pretty well," Schwarber said. "It just happens. It's part of the game. I have to let it rest a little bit and then get back in the mix of things."
He wasn't too concerned, and he will be re-examined on Friday.
"I don't think it'll be significant," he said. "Hopefully a couple days and I'll be back out there again."
