CHICAGO -- Kristopher Bryant can count on his Cubs teammates to help drum up support and get him to the All-Star Game via the 2017 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote.
Bryant, a candidate for a spot on the National League team, was second to the Dodgers' Justin Turner after early fan balloting. Turner had received 6.7 million votes to outpace Bryant, the Nationals' Anthony Rendon, the Rockies' Mark Reynolds and the Marlins' Justin Bour.
Chicago's Anthony Rizzo, who won the Final Vote in 2014, posted on Twitter.

Willson Contreras, Jonathan Lester, Ian Happ and former Cubs catcher David Ross also have tweeted support for Bryant, who is hoping to get to his third All-Star Game. During Tuesday's game at Wrigley Field, videos of Bryant highlights were shown on the video board.

"It's cool to see their support," Bryant said of his teammates. "This is kind of cool to be in the Final Vote considering how I made it the last two years. It's a new experience."
Bryant's wife Jessica has been busy on social media promoting her husband as well.
"She does a great job -- she's awesome," Bryant said.

Fans can vote for Bryant two ways: Go to Cubs.com/vote, or text N2 to 89269 (USA) or 101010 (Canada). Today from 9 a.m. CT to 3 p.m. CT, the Twitter hashtag use will count toward the vote, and fans can use #VoteKB.
On Tuesday, Bryant went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the fifth in the Cubs' 6-5 loss to the Rays. He was solid defensively at third, making a nice stop on Adeiny Hechavarria's grounder to end the eighth and scooped up Peter Bourjos' grounder on a nice play to open the ninth.

During the game, the Cubs showed some of his in-season highlights on the video board and flashed a reminder to vote for Bryant.
Joe Maddon, who will manage the National League team, said the All-Star break may be good for his players to get some rest. Bryant doesn't want the days off.
"It's the All-Star Game," Bryant said. "There's not many people who get a chance to say they're in my position, they're in the Final Vote, they could make the All-Star team. I don't think there's any benefit to extra days off. When you start the season in April, you expect to be playing until November. I feel great now, my ankle feels good, my body feels fine. I'd be more than happy to play in that game."

Fans can cast ballots for the 2017 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote on MLB.com, Club sites and their mobile devices until 4 p.m. ET today. The winners, as chosen exclusively by online fan voting totals, will then be announced during "MLB Tonight" live on MLB Network and MLB.com at 6 p.m. Extensive coverage throughout the Final Vote will be provided by MLB Network and MLB.com, including interviews with the candidates, frequent updates, heat maps indicating where votes are being cast for each candidate, news on player and club campaigns, and a running countdown clock leading up to the announcement.

Now in its 16th season, with more than 680 million votes cast, the Final Vote again will include social votes on the last day of balloting, as Twitter support for the 10 candidates over the final six hours of balloting will count toward their vote totals. From 10 a.m.-4 p.m. ET today, any tweet that includes a designated player hashtag will be tabulated as part of the official vote total used to determine the winners.
