"EXCITED to officially announce that I'll be heading north to the Windy City in 2018 to help bring another championship to the #Cubs historic franchise! #FlyTheW" Bass tweeted from his account @AnthonyBass52.

Bass' last extended big league run came in 2015, when he made 33 relief appearances for the Rangers. He spent all of '16 in Japan, and most of 2017 with the Ranges' Triple-A affiliate. He appeared in two games for Texas early in the season.
The 30-year-old Bass is 5-9 with a 4.60 ERA over 131 career appearances, mostly in relief. He is the fourth pitcher the Cubs have acquired this offseason to potentially help their bullpen. They still remain in the market for a front-line starting pitcher.
