The D-backs announced injury updates for utility player Chris Owings and infielder Ildemaro Vargas on Sunday.
Owings had surgery on the middle finger on his right hand on Saturday, which was performed by Dr. Don Sheridan to ensure proper and complete healing. Dr. Sheridan performed surgery on the same finger on July 31.
Owings originally fractured the finger on a bunt attempt on July 30 against the Cardinals.

Vargas had surgery performed on Oct. 12 by Dr. Sheridan to remove his right hamate bone.
