D-backs option Bradley, recall Bracho

Arizona eyes fresh arm to bolster overused bullpen

SAN FRANCISCO -- Another day and another roster move for the D-backs, who optioned Archie Bradley to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday and recalled right-hander Silvino Bracho to bolster the bullpen.
The D-backs' relievers have been stretched thin on this road trip with a combination of a short start by Shelby Miller and a pair of extra-inning games.

Bradley, who was called up Sunday, started Monday and lasted just 4 1/3 innings.
"It's obviously out of necessity," manager Chip Hale said of the recent spate of roster moves. "We're trying to not overuse our bullpen, but obviously we are overusing our bullpen."
Bracho made the team out of Spring Training, but was the first pitcher sent down when the team needed fresh arms during the season's first week.

In four games with Reno, Bracho had two saves and a 2.25 ERA.
"He's been throwing the ball really well down in Reno and we need the help," Hale said.
