D-backs Reinstate Robbie Ray; Option Matt Koch to Triple-A Reno

The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated LHP Robbie Ray (@RobbieRay) from the 10-day disabled list to start today's game at New York Mets after optioning RHP Matt Koch (pronounced "cook") to Triple-A Reno following last night's game.

Ray, 25, was transferred to the 10-day disabled list on August 7 after being placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list on July 29, the day after being struck in the head by a line drive by the St. Louis Cardinals' Luke Voit with 2 outs in the second inning. Ray made a rehab start with Single-A Advanced Visalia on August 17 vs. Modesto, striking out 11 over 4.2 innings (2 ER). The 2017 NL All-Star (first time), among NL pitchers (min. 20 GS), ranks second with 11.45 strikeouts-per-9.0-innings, tied for fourth with a .207 opponent average, fifth with a 3.11 ERA, seventh with a .666 opponent OPS and ninth with 151 strikeouts.
