LOS ANGELES -- The D-backs don't want to look too far into it this early in the season, but after winning six of seven games at home, they have dropped four of five on the road.
The latest loss came to the Dodgers, 8-4, on Saturday night.
"I haven't really thought about it," D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said. "I know that we're not playing great baseball, overall. We haven't executed in some key moments. Whether it be offensively, defensively or on the mound, I think it's been a collective thought that's been rolling around that we haven't done the right thing at the right time as we were on the homestand."
Last year it was games at Chase Field that gave the D-backs fits as they finished with a 33-48 record. It wasn't until May 6 that they recorded six wins at home.
It's hard to read too much into the home/road splits at this point and they have come in tough places to play -- AT&T Park in San Francisco and Dodger Stadium.
"[Friday] they just beat us," D-backs third baseman Jake Lamb said. "Plain and simple. Today's a tough one, score some runs, they got big hits when they needed them and we didn't. We had opportunities. It's nothing to do with home and road. I mean this is obviously a tough place to play, but our guys are ready. We've been here before."
Dodger Stadium has not been a hospitable place for the D-backs over the past three-plus seasons.
Since 2014, Arizona is just 6-24 in Chavez Ravine. Overall against the Dodgers in that span, the D-backs are just 17-42.
"It's a situation where we're going to keep plowing away at it," Lovullo said. "It's a part of the game that we have to work through these moments and I know these guys will."
