D-backs to host First Responders Day this Sunday

The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks and @LosDbacks) will celebrate first responders from across Arizona this Sunday during First Responders Day at Chase Field. The D-backs will also pay tribute to those who lost their lives during the events on Sept. 11, 2001 with a moment of silence.

This Sunday is open to all first responders, their families and anyone who supports and honors those who serve our communities. The D-backs will recognize first responders throughout the game and Police and Fire Pipe & Drum band will perform on the field before the game. City of Phoenix Police Department Commander Paula Veach and, on behalf of APS, Air Force Major Dave McCaskill will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Carlton Smith from the West Virginia University Police Department will sing the national anthem.
