D-backs slugger expected to be ready for Spring Training

PHOENIX -- D-backs outfielder Yasmany Tomas underwent a procedure on Thursday to clean scar tissue from a surgery he had performed on his core in August.
Tomas is expected to be ready for Spring Training, according to D-backs general manager Mike Hazen.
Tomas was limited to 47 games last year due to core issues. He was first placed on the disabled list on June 6 with right groin tendinitis, but when he experienced discomfort trying to return, he underwent core surgery on Aug. 22.
Both the original surgery and Thursday's procedure were performed by Dr. Bill Meyers in Philadelphia. The recent procedure was to remove the scar tissue that was causing irritation in the area.
Tomas slashed .241/.294/.464 last season.
