Devin Mesoraco: Back in the Reds' lineup after a small hiccup, Mesoraco could make an impact when he faces Rockies left-hander Jorge De La Rosa. With a career .836 OPS against southpaws vs. a .694 mark against righties, this catcher-eligible player is clearly equipped for a matchup against a lefty like De La Rosa (career 4.60 ERA, 1.43 WHIP).

Eugenio Suarez: Suarez should enjoy facing a left-handed starting pitcher in De La Rosa, as he has hit eight home runs in 181 career at-bats against southpaws, contributing to a strong .812 OPS (.706 mark against righties). Meanwhile, De La Rosa may be a particularly susceptible target given his career .794 OPS allowed to right-handed batters like Suarez (.639 to right-handers).

Edwin Encarnacion: One of the most productive power hitters in recent years, Encarnacion is quite capable of thriving in an advantageous matchup against Orioles right-hander Mike Wright. Encarnacion has been particularly effective against right-handed pitching in recent years, as evidenced by his impressive .950 OPS with 33 homers against them in 2015. Furthermore, Wright (6.16 ERA in the Major Leagues) appears to be a prime target for the Toronto slugger.
Nolan Arenado: After pacing the National League with 42 homers and leading all of baseball with 130 RBIs last year, Arenado has picked up where he left off by starting this season on a tear. The 25-year-old slugger could certainly stay hot when he matches up against Robert Stephenson (five career innings) and a shaky Cincinnati bullpen.
Carlos Gonzalez: CarGo posted a remarkable .975 OPS with 27 homers in the second half of last year, and he has been even stronger to begin this season with a .367/.415/.714 line in his first 12 contests. Batting in front of the equally red-hot Arenado in the mighty Rockies lineup, Gonzalez could utilize his career .936 OPS against righties (.744 mark vs. lefties) to excel against the righty Stephenson.

Xander Bogaerts: Bogaerts enjoyed a breakout campaign in '15, fueled in part by a .365/.424/.468 line against southpaws. The 23-year-old shortstop will have an opportunity to build on his lefty-mashing reputation when he matches up against Drew Smyly, whose .739 OPS allowed to righty hitters like Bogaerts (.552 OPS surrendered to lefty hitters) suggests a significant platoon weakness.
Rajai Davis: Davis has started the season slowly, but facing off against an underwhelming lefty like Wade Miley (career 4.01 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) may be just what he needs to get things going. Despite being known more for his speed than his power, the outfielder historically turns into a bit of a slugger when facing southpaws; he holds a career .792 OPS against them (.656 vs. righties) with decidedly more pop per plate appearance.
Mike Napoli: With Davis thriving against Miley at the top of the lineup, Napoli may get the opportunity to do his part and drive him in. A combination of the two lefty-mashers could make for a worthwhile pairing considering Napoli's historical success against southpaws (career .917 OPS, .803 against righties) and his cleanup-spot job with Cleveland.
Buster Posey: Already the most popular fantasy option at the catcher position, Posey could be especially effective when he takes on Robbie Ray. The Arizona southpaw has platoon struggles that can be best identified in his control numbers, as he holds a 3.91 strikeout-to-walk ratio against left-handed hitters but a 1.79 mark against righty batters. Such should mean big things for Posey and his career .949 OPS against southpaw pitching (.821 vs. right-handers).

Jose Altuve: Altuve could be a big part of an excellent Astros stack against Rangers left-hander Derek Holland. The second baseman is off to a fast start, and his eye-popping .353/.397/.498 career line against southpaws is hard to ignore when facing Holland (lifetime 4.25 ERA, 1.31 WHIP).
Carlos Correa: Altuve's double-play partner can mash lefties in his own right, as his lifetime .909 OPS against them in the Major Leagues looks even better than his solid .834 mark against righties. The shortstop phenom could certainly do his part in putting up runs against Holland and a Rangers bullpen that has struggled heavily in the early going.
George Springer: Springer has immense power and speed potential, but his production has been limited a bit by his struggles with strikeouts. That is not the case as much when he faces lefties, as he owns an .890 OPS against them, compared to a .785 mark against righties. The left-handed Holland -- Springer's opponent on Tuesday -- has mustered a 6.3 K/9 rate since the beginning of '14, so the outfielder could certainly make an impact in an Astros stack with Altuve and Correa.
Vince Velasquez: Velasquez has started off strong and made a big statement with his last outing, a 16-strikeout shutout performance vs. San Diego. The 23-year-old right-hander might not do something quite that incredible again on Tuesday, but his matchup against the Mets could go pretty well considering New York's slow start. So far, the Mets have scored just 37 runs (25th in baseball) and hit just .214/.296/.350 against righties (.645 OPS is 24th).
Michael Pineda: Pineda raised eyebrows with his 156 strikeouts to 21 walks last season, and some wise fantasy owners expected even better peripheral results this time around. Although the 27-year-old has fallen short of those expectations so far in '16, a home matchup against the struggling A's and their .606 OPS against righties (27th in baseball) could easily help him get on track.

Francisco Liriano: Liriano is already racking up the K's to begin the year, and that could certainly continue in San Diego. Not only have the Padres had considerable struggles at the plate to begin this season, but their 128 strikeouts are tied for second-most in baseball. Given his ability to generate whiffs and his upcoming outing in a pitcher-friendly venue, the southpaw could be set for a strong performance.
