Posey, Stanton, Trout set to excel Saturday

July 8th, 2016

Welcome to DraftKings fantasy baseball, the Official Daily Fantasy Game of Major League Baseball.
The players listed below could provide difference-making stats for DraftKings participants on Saturday.
Josh Donaldson: Since joining the Blue Jays at the outset of 2015, the third baseman has posted an impressive .321/.424/.622 slash line against left-handers and a .333/.414/.644 line at his hitter-friendly home park. Donaldson may be worth a major investment in DraftKings contests when he hits at home against Tigers southpaw Matt Boyd (career 7.17 ERA, 1.55 WHIP).
:: Fred Zinkie's Daily Picks ::
Edwin Encarnacion: Since the outset of 2012, the first baseman has posted a .275/.385/.555 slash line against left-handers and a .275/.373/.560 line at his hitter-friendly home venue. Hitting .314 with 12 homers and 37 RBIs across 118 at-bats since June 1, Encarnacion could produce a notable DraftKings total when he bats at home against the left-handed Boyd (career 6.05 FIP) and a Tigers bullpen that ranks 24th in baseball with a 4.46 ERA.

Troy Tulowitzki: Since returning from the disabled list on June 18, the shortstop has hit .328 with seven homers and 20 RBIs across 67 at-bats. With a lofty lifetime .945 OPS against left-handers (.847 vs. righties), Tulowitzki will be in prime position to stay hot when he faces the southpaw Boyd and an unreliable Tigers bullpen.
Aledmys Diaz: Hitting .319 with 12 homers across 319 at-bats, the rookie shortstop has been a cost-effective contributor in many 2016 DraftKings contests. Diaz could thrive when he brings his .963 OPS against right-handers (.828 vs. lefties) into a matchup with Brewers righty Chase Anderson (career 4.49 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) at hitter-friendly Miller Park.
Matt Adams: The first baseman has long fared best vs. right-handers, against whom he has a lifetime .817 OPS (.577 vs. lefties). Adams could go deep or drive in multiple runs when he faces the right-handed Anderson (5.49 ERA, 1.38 WHIP in 2016) at Milwaukee's homer-happy venue.
Giancarlo Stanton: With a lifetime .286/.378/.610 slash line against left-handers, the outfielder has proven to wield a potent bat during those matchups. Stanton will be in great position to display his power when he faces southpaw John Lamb (career 5.59 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, 1.6 HR/9 rate) and a Reds relief corps that ranks last in the Majors with a 5.77 ERA.

Marcell Ozuna: Hitting .310 with 17 homers across 313 at-bats, the outfielder is in the midst of a breakout season. Ozuna could continue to produce when he takes his lifetime .893 OPS against left-handers (.727 vs. righties) into a matchup with the left-handed Lamb (5.43 ERA, 1.56 WHIP in 2016) and an unreliable Reds bullpen.
Addison Russell: With a lifetime .778 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .665 mark vs. lefties, the shortstop could excel against Pirates rookie righty Chad Kuhl (4.09 ERA, 1.36 WHIP). In fact, Russell could be part of a productive lineup, as the Cubs lead the National League with 444 runs scored.
Buster Posey: The catcher could post a notable DraftKings total when he brings his lofty lifetime .328/.390/.565 slash line against left-handers into a matchup with D-backs southpaw Robbie Ray (career 4.52 ERA, 1.48 WHIP). In his career, Ray has allowed right-handed hitters such as Posey to post an .812 OPS (.724 OPS allowed to lefty batters).
Mike Trout: With a lifetime .312/.401/.573 slash line against right-handers, the outfielder has proven to be one of the best in baseball during those matchups. Trout could post a substantial DraftKings total when he bats at homer-happy Camden Yards against righty Yovani Gallardo (6.10 ERA, 1.64 WHIP in 2016).
Nomar Mazara: The rookie outfielder will be in great position to improve on his .303/.356/.479 slash line against right-handers when he bats at his hitter-friendly home park against righty Ricky Nolasco (5.26 ERA, 1.36 WHIP in 2016) and a Twins squad that ranks last in the Majors with a .667 defensive efficiency ratio.
Shin-Soo Choo: In his career, Choo has produced a .903 OPS against right-handers that exceeds his .695 mark vs. lefties. Hitting leadoff, the outfielder may maximize his opportunities to reach base and score runs against the right-handed Nolasco (career 4.58 ERA, 1.33 WHIP), who in his career has allowed left-handed hitters such as Choo to post a .789 OPS (.733 OPS allowed to righty batters).

Corey Seager: In his first full season, the shortstop has produced an impressive .319/.385/.559 slash line against right-handers. Seager could provide elite production at a premium position when he faces rookie righty Luis Perdomo (7.93 ERA, 2.00 WHIP in ) and a Padres bullpen that ranks 26th in the Majors with a 4.54 ERA.
Adrian Gonzalez: With just one homer since June 1, the first baseman may have a reduced price tag in DraftKings contests when he brings his impressive lifetime .895 OPS against right-handers (.768 vs. lefties) into a matchup with the right-handed Perdomo (5.07 FIP) and a shaky Padres bullpen.
Danny Salazar: With a 3.07 ERA and a 9.8 K/9 rate since the outset of 2015, the right-hander ranks among the most dominant starters in the American League. Salazar could spin a gem when he works at home against a Yankees lineup that ranks 23rd in the Majors in OPS vs. righties (.712) and 29th in OPS on the road (.673).
Jose Quintana: With a lifetime 3.41 ERA, the left-hander ranks among the most consistent starters in the Junior Circuit. Quintana could deliver a stellar start when he faces a Braves lineup that ranks 29th in the Majors in OPS against lefties (.619) and last in total home runs (47).

Brandon McCarthy: Making his return from Tommy John surgery, the right-hander spun five scoreless innings against the Rockies on July 3. McCarthy could continue to succeed when he works at his pitcher-friendly home park against a Padres lineup that ranks 29th in the Majors with a .672 OPS against righties.
All statistics are accurate through the completion of Thursday's games.
